So.....did my lead last night and it was an awesome experience!!! I think we are required to do the work: 5th step , amends and leads to help us grow and realize we can get through anything without drinking!!!!!
I cant believe how much my life has changed over the past 18 months!!! I am so grateful that my HP has enriched my life with trust, sobriety, friendships that are meaningful and a whole new outlook on life!
I personally could not have done it on my own! I had been drink free or dry in the past with poor results. For me, it took going to meetings daily, even 2-3 times daily, getting a sponsor, home group and working the steps and program as suggested.
For those of you that are new and think you can just "get sober" and things will change....I can tell you it is not true! We need to do the work...Learn how to be a grown up from those that did it before us. It is awesome to know we are not alone. I thought my thinking and actions were unique but upon sharing with others...I have found that most people can relate and have been through the same exact things I have been through. Their E,S and Hope has carried me through!
It is a long road and I am not even close to being the best I can be....But if I continue to do the work...The promises can and do come true!!

Thanks lani. Im glad your lead went well and that the promises are coming true for you. I've started my 4th step this week and am not looking forward to making amends, but as you said, we have to do the work to expect the results...thanks for the reminder and the hope!
