A friend gave me this link in February 07, just got round to using it. Here i am, 0530 hrs UK time, still dark, birds just starting to cough and splutter, been awake since 0320.
my foot hurts because i've broken a toe and that woke me up. took me a miserable, self pitying hour and a half to realise that my foot hurt and that's what woke me up. So i've taken some pain killers. The pain is abating.

i live alone and have done since 2nd january 2006, as due to my behaviour while drinking, my wife and I don't live together anymore. She says she wants me back but 'can't' while ever the kids (who are 18 and 22 years old) still need her and live at home.

I get lonely and get down, especially in teh small hours. I still don't sleep too well. But my life is good compared to a few years ago. My sobriety date is 18th october 2006. I am clean, warm, sober, comfortable, sheltered, working, getting paid and well fed. (that sounds like a gratitude list to me).

I hope there's someone on line out there - I could do with the company. Not worth going back to bed as I'm wide awake and start work in 2 hours time.

Hello Bill, and welcome to the MIP AA board. Nice introductory post. We have a respectable UK contingency here, a few whom would be welcoming you shortly. Hope the toe feels better, stick around for awhile. smile.gif

breathes a big sigh of relief........of course I didn't think anyone would reply, of course I should've known people would. paranoid? Me?

managed to get half an hour kip in a car park at 0930 and another 20 minutes this afternoon. Just been for a deep tissue massage and feel good again.

Dealt with the two difficult customer meetings and never swore or bullied once, now that's an improvement.

It's now 16:25hrs, radio burbling away, curry and rice for tea and a meeting in 3 hours. And my sponsor is back from abroad for a couple of weeks.

that saying is true, and this will pass too.

My main ride is an Aprilia Caponord Rallye Raid - the sort of thing that looks like you're going to Morroco when you're really only going to Morrisons. (UK supermarket) Currently it's sick in the shed awaiting parts. Hope to go to Germany on it in a month though. (Got my meetings list written out ready)

I'm also re building a 1960 AJS 350 as a trail bike and have a 1981 Guzzi t4 that has been awaiting restoration for about 15 years but the drinking got in the way.

Shame that I've just plucked up the nerve to join this forum and I have to go to Scotland next week for work so will be off line most of next week. Still, gives me the chance to meet new firends in new meetings and to hopefully get a few hours fishing in. I'll be in Inverness on Tuesday and Greenock on Wednesday. Maybe Preston on Thursday.
