The Bondage Of Resentments

...harboring resentment is infinitely grave.  For then we shut ourselves off from the sunlight of the spirit.

It has been said, "Anger is a luxury I cannot afford."  Does this suggest I egnore this human emotion?  I believe not.  Before I learned of the A.A. program, I was a slave to the behavior patterns of alcoholism.  I was chained to negativity, with on hope of cutting loose.

The Steps offered me an alternative.  Step four was the beginning of the end of my bondage.  The process of "letting go" started with an inventory.  I needed not be frightened, for the previous Steps assured me I was not alone. My Higher Power led me to this door and gave me the gift of choice.  Today I can choose to open the door to freedom and rejoice in the sunlight  of the Steps, as they cleanse the spirit within me.

Resentments> Ouch! Hurt! Anger!!  Yup Gal. Youre right. Sunshine cannot shine while its pouring rain, at the same time.:)

And the fourth and fifth set us free, to proceed onward.:)

I remember one morning at 5am--was hung over, shakin and vibrating, and these old crows were sitting in a tree outside squackin like crazy. I take a rifle--poke it through the screen and here I am shooting this gun off in the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say, I woke up the whole neighbourhood. Couldnt hit the broad side of a barn with the gun, and the crows all survived.

To this day, I still have a resentment against crows. The fourth step didnt take care of that one.:)

Insanity rules!!!  hahaha  You have a nice day.:)

Okay sore subject..always a pleasure have a good day...glad the cancer didn't win...and if a little insanity helps keep us laughing, than I'll keep some. lol

I think age mellows us out a bit too-hehehe

My get up and go has got up and went, some days, and Im still lookin for it.

My thought for the day, " When we cant learn to laugh at ourselves, we might as well dig a hole, and climb in."

Not ready for that yet. Rock on!!

Heavy, babes.

Sounds like the title to a Stephen King novel.

The bondage of resentments dug deep into her soul. Her parents had done their best, but being mere weakling humans they had not lived up to expectations and her first friends at kindergarten had let her down big time...
