Anybody catch "The Apprentice" tonight? Dennis Rodman "got fired" because he spent too much time pounding in the cranberry and vodkas. They made a huge deal about it in the boardroom. I found it ridiculous and sad at the same time but the message about alcohol abuse was loud and clear from all of the participants. ( I'm really not a fan of reality tv )

I didn't see it but heard about it and I think it's obscene that they're using this poor SOBs drug and alcohol problem for public entertainment. That's no way to get help for the guy, the AA way is to get a couple of recovering drunks to make a 12th step call. They should be ashamed.

I saw the Topic and thought "WHOOOOOOOO? Now who is Dennis?!" Boy! Was I relieved to find out. I, of course, thought someone from MIP had gone back out.......
Never seen the show, will never watch such drivel. It's that kind of TV that is part of what's wrong with society as we know it today. They glamorize things that are not glamourous and they (as Bob stated) use folk's tragedies / hardships for public entertainment. And somehow the younger generation is known as the 'I'm entitled' due to TV and/or internet making a celebrity out of an absolute no body!
Ashamed is right on!

Missed that one, but I had seen one of the previous ones in this season. (For lack of something else to do, because I'm not really into that show.) From that one show all I could think is "WHAT A .......!" I loved watching him when he was at the height of his career back when...... He became to selfabsorbed for me though. Showman who apparently loves drama. As far as his drinking......are you sure it wasn't a publicity stunt?! It just seems to me that some of these celebs........whose careers are taking a bit of a nose dive......always seem all of the sudden to get into trouble whether it be drugs, alcohol, tax problems, ect.... I've really wondered at times what is truth and what isn't. Do they do it just to keep in the public eye?! Just my own thoughts.....
sorry, I have a hard time feeling sorry for Rodman. If he's one of us, he'll have to go to meetings and do the rest just like the next. I've sat meetings with dozens of celebs in DC and LA, hang your ego at the door.

I don't feel sorry for Dennis either.
He's a willing participant of what was a disgusting display.
But an intervension is about helping someone save their own life, it's personnel and private, not something you do to entertain the masses

Oh I hear you, it's making a mockery of the process. Rodman has shame, anything for a buck. What's amazing to me, that he was talented Ball player that appeared to have quit playing early to idiot for whatever kind of money it paid lol.
Ever see Celebrity Rehab? I can't see the purpose of such shows. Same as Intervention, it does nothing for us and I can't see what it could do for non addicts either, except scare them! And then theres that ass from his rehab in California seeling the "cure" books on TV....isn't that terrifying!!

There's always somebody looking for the easier, softer way.
I drive all day for work listening to the radio hearing these guys schilling their cure.
When I got here I was too, the outpatient rehab I went to promoted the "Matrix Method" for recovery, Fortunetly for me my group coulselor was a long time AA and he taugh us the 12 step way.
