Wednesday, April 13, 2005 What it takes You have what it takes to make an ordinary day into a great one that will always be remembered. For what it takes is nothing more than the willingness to live every moment like it will never come again.
You have what it takes to transform small, easily performed actions into great accomplishments. For what it takes is nothing more than the persistence to make one small step, and then another, and another, until the job is done.
You have what it takes to make every moment better than the one before. For what it takes is nothing more than choosing to learn all you can from both the victories and the defeats.
You have what it takes to live a life of meaning and fulfillment. For what it takes is nothing more than committing yourself, in each moment, to what you know is right for you.
You have what it takes to move beyond your fears. For what it takes is the understanding that fear is not there to stop you, but to prepare you.
You have what it takes, right now, this very day. So choose to make it happen.
Wendy, Thanks for this share and the one before. I really needed something inspiring and these were definetly it. It's been a bad 24 hours but is getting better, I know I have what it takes to make my life great and God is with me all the way and always has been. Thanks again.
re: my mom, had a really good chat with her today on msn...seems we are getting closer than we ever were. She goes for her tests on the 19th..our conversation today included how much it appears my sister is drinking these days..so sad..if she only knew the freedom and happiness of being sober!!!! It also seems that my mom is really taking to heart some of the things i say about addiction and sobriety, i know being sick has dampened her drinking and pray that WHEN she pulls through this cancer test ansd results that she keeps our convos in her heart..
Just got home from an awesome meeting on step 2. the insanity of my active using years, good God could only open the doors and let me out of that hell!!
It appears my old landlord has put a claim in against me for $760.00....sigh...the first time that i can remember moving and doing it mostly by the book and this is what i get.. I must stand and fight for myself on this one.! Amazes me how quickly i can think of a drink/drug to calm my nerves when i get my dander up!! But i went to a meeting and i'm fairly confident i won't pick up today.
Thanks so much for your prayers Gammy!! Hope your day goes better from here!! \\//peace
Thursday, April 14, 2005 The realm of success The biggest successes come to those who are not afraid to fail. When you can accept and live with the possibility of failure, then you're ready to go forward into the realm of success.
Failure is failure only when you let it stop you. Yet when you fear failure, it will stop you even before you ever start.
Instead, simply accept the possibility of failure and go on ahead anyway. You may well have some setbacks, but you'll also have the ability to deal with them as they come along.
Each difficulty you encounter along the way will, after you get beyond it, eventually add value to whatever you're doing. Each so-called failure is only temporary when you are committed to reaching the goal.
Any effort that produces real value will also have some risk. To arrive at the value you must live through the risk.
Where there's a possibility of failure, there is also the real opportunity for success. The more you can accept the possibility of failure, the more success you will achieve.
