They told me, "You've got to get out and work a little; you've got to give." They told me that giving was living, and that living was loving, and loving was God. And you don't have to worry about God, because He's sitting right in front of your eyes. You get just a little sobriety, and you get just a little humility. Not much, just a little. Not the humility of sackcloth and ashes, but the humility of a man who's glad he's alive and can serve. You get just a little tolerance, not too much, but just enough to sit and listen to the other guy.

Thought to Ponder....
Humility is not a station we arrive at; it's a way of traveling.
Wow, humility is one of the biggest components to my recovery. I must always remind myself that humility has nothing to do with humiliation!. When I keep myself humble, living with humility, I know my HP is at work. Deconstruction of the ego is my biggest focus these days and understanding humility helps keep things real for me.

Steps 6 & 7 are major keys to humility for me. Everything good that I may do or receive in my life is thanks to a Higher Power. I give all that is good & bad in me to my HP. This helps me to stay humble. I cannot take too much credit for the good given to & passed through me in this grace.
