ANOTHER DAY SOBER

Woke up today to start another day sober. First thing I thought about was what meeting I was going to go to. Next thing was I wanted a cup of coffee.(Yeah, drinking a cup in the morning and one at a meeting, don't want to get hyper) Last Sat. was mylast day I drank so getting through this weekend was really a big step for me. I am trying to do this one day at a time but with the weekend looming I could not help having the possibility cross my mind. Sat. was always my big drink day. I would wake up early, drink tons of coffe and then about 11am it all started sometimes going to about midnight. But ya know what? I got through Sat. without hardly even thinking about it. I think alot of the reason is my week spent on changing my thinking. Not to mention early morn9ing F2F meetings and online chat and meetings. Plus I kept myself busy. One other thing I am doing is looking for things to do and writing them down, making a list of all the possible things that I can do to get out of the house. Amazing how many things thjere are to do are town, most are free or inexpensive. Not that I should worry about the cost. Nothing compares to money spent drinking. Probobly spent at least 50 bucks a day. You can have a pretty nice sober day on 50 bucks.

omg, $50 a day! Put it in a money market account and pay yourself that wonderful reward for being a sober individual! Should help to keep you on the good road. Save up for something you have wanted or want to do...

Keeping busy is a real big key.

Congrats on another sober day. And, the great news is that the days keep getting better.

I have just finished a ten mile walk in the countryside near where I live. It was wonderful, just so peaceful and beautiful. I would never have done that if I had still been drinking.

Take care,

Carol
