being in the program is not always easy.they say if you dont, drink you had a good day .well for me there's more first i have to take the steps like it's in the big book, then i have to let god in my heart and life.and become willing to be like he wants me too.thats the hard part, when i have to face the pain.then i grow and walk the talk,i can talk about the big book but when i do what it says .then iam happy joyce and free, not just dry,
All of that is true, but no one can do all of it at the same time. That is why they say to "don't drink" and you have a good day. None of the other stuff will happen unless you don't drink.
Then, in step 3 you are going to "turn your life & will over to the care of a Higher Power". If that is honestly done, YOU are not in charge anymore. ALL you have to do is DON'T DRINK and go to meetings. ALL the other stuff will happen ONE STEP AT A TIME!!!
When you eat a hamburger you start at the first bite, then the second, and so on. No one can start at the last bite first. It is the same for the steps. That is why they are NUMBERED!!!
ONE STEP AT A TIME ONE DAY AT A TIME EASY DOES IT LET GO AND LET GOD
You can smile all day every day, but only if you jam a coat hanger in your mouth.
Have a look at As Bill Sees It, look in the index for the passages on depression.
Read them, one of them has a note saying the author has not suffered from depression siince some date, I think it equated to Bill being 21 years sober.
In my experience you get some numpty telling you that if you are depressed you are doing the program wrong, just keep quiet, normally within a few months they go through a tough time, then treat them with the love you wished they had given you,
Welcome to MIP, Blue. I love your strong message. I try to live this way & I find the same results too. Thankyou for sharing & thankyou for being here. Keep coming back 1Day@aTime Godbless, Danielle x
