1. It is a victory, not a failure, to admit that I cannot control my problems, for then I can turn to a higher power and begin to find serenity.
2. It is constructive to take an honest look at myself, face the true feelings and communicate honestly.
3. It is an act of courage, not shame, to admit any wrong i've done and ask forgiveness of God, myself and others.
4. It is healthy to accept and love myself, and to let others love me, because like everyone else, I'am worthy and deserving of love and a good life.
5. It is O.K. to trust myself and others, I can be responsible for myself, as others can be for themselves.
6. It is possible for me to be happy, since happiness depends on myself and my attitude, not on things or other people.
7. It is possible for me to recover, If I believe I can and I'm willing to take the necessary action for change.
8. It is better to set realistic goals for change; I can accomplish them one step at a time and one day at a time. I can't do it all, or do it perfectly, but I can do something. If I fail, It's okay - there's no failure except in not trying.
9. It is all right to set limits to keep myself sane and serene. It's okay to let things go that cannot be changed or do not matter.
10. It is good to take the time to stay in touch with myself and God through prayer and meditation.
While I was on holiday someone tried to steal my bicycle.
Unfortunately, it was secured to the railings outside my house with a very sturdy lock.
The thieves tried to twist the lock off by spinning the bike and using it as a lever.
They managed to bend the frame and also make the lock inoperative, so I am unable to use the key to take it off.
Will alcohol remove this eyesore from outside my front door?
PS The moral to this tale is there can be too much security. It would have been a lot easier if they had stolen the bike and I could claim the theft on insurance.
Now I have to cut the lock with an angle grinder and dispose of the metal remnants. The bike is probably unsafe to use with a bent frame and also have to be dumped.
At the office I secured the windows. A thief broke in through my door. I had the door reinforced with metal bars, plates and additional locks.
Just before I went away I got a phone call from my solicitor "There is a hole in your office wall and the Police are looking into it".
Nothing was stole from the offfice.
I was considering the installation of a burglar flap, so that they can come and go at will without causing any further damage to the property.

It was the drug crazed dude ran me over with his bike.
Having sought professional advice from the local bike shop, the only thing that will get through that type of lock is an angle grinder. Natural weathering may do it within a hundred years, and save me the bother.
