What a reminder that if I dont stay sober....death is immenent!!
Had a group member pass away the day after xmas. Her mom and her were in the program together and although "mom" got it...Jamie just lost the battle.  She has two small children, who have been living with grandma the last couple months thankfully, so they are blooming......
What a precious life to waste...she just couldnt or wouldnt get it....

Her mom shared that she prayed for God to protect her and hoped she would find her own higher power...she kind of chuckled and said..."I didnt mean that literally!!!"
Thank god for the program and her friends that will help her through....
Also have to attend a funeral for another friend in the program's whose young brother died in a motorcycle crash...My these young people's lives are over...or just beginning depending on how we look at it I suppose...
Just reminders to me today that I need to stay sober, go to meetings and never take life for granted.
Please keep these families in your prayers!!!

Prayers are going up, Laurie. It's a horrible reminder that alcoholism really is a killer disease. We are all fortunate to be sober today.

Take care,

Carol

Hi Lani,

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I do know what you're feeling and what you're
going thru.  On saturday, I too lost a good friend in the program.

Katie celebrated 4 years sober on Dec 19th.  She taught me, no matter what I'm feeling, going through, no matter how much pain I'm in, I can get through it sober.  No matter What!!!

Katie lost her courageous battel with cirrhosis of the liver.

She will be greatly missed and in my heart forever.

Prayers sent to you and your friends families!

Love Nell

Lani, I will definitely be thinking of and praying for these families. You are so right, we are not promised tomorrow, but we have a better chance of seeing tomorrow if we don't drink tonight. Life is short as is. You are right, we have to enjoy each day, sober. Sounds like your AA friend who losther daughter has a lot of support right now. Thank God for the folks in this program.

((((hugs))))
