Hi, my name is Cheri and I'm an alcoholic. I've been sober for about 4 yrs but I recently moved to a place that I can't go to meetings everyday. My husband suggested I check out online message boards and meetings. I'm sorta computer illiterate but thought I'd give it a try.Anyway,just reading other peoples' experience strength and hope should help. Thanks for being here.
hi, welcome to our board. This can't replace face2face meetings and local friends,,, but I'm glad your supportive husband thought of this and suggested it to you because it is a good supplement,,, and it does help when there is not a face2face meeting available.

Welcome to our board Cheri. It's a good place to be. You are very lucky that you have your husband on your side, I find the support I get from my future wife to be vital.
If you havn't got a local face to face meeting, then this is the next best thing.

This is in some ways better than a face to face AA meeting, cos you can always get there and always get back from it and do not have to rely upon the stupid transportation systems of places like Sicily.
