just thinking about how nice it has been to be snowbound for 2 days...in my drinking days, I would have "alcoholed" my way thru....but I have been shoveling snow, cleaning things only a mother would care about, listening to music, playing online scrabble with friends, cooking, reading...letting the dog in/letting the dog out...watching him ( a pomeranian) get all snowy...and laughing.   I just wanted to say how grateful I am that all of you are out there. It's going to be a white Christmas here in NJ...how cool is that?   Beachgirl

I'll be thinking about you, a lot lol, when I'm riding my motorcycle today. It's going to be sunny and in the 70's all week. I just got finished feeding the duckies that hang out at my seawall. But all that snow that you're talking about is getting me excited about skiing. :-0 Are you going  sledding today? I really miss that. smile.gif

BG, what a wonderful share. Thank you so much.

Not gonna be a white christmas here in SC, but a cold one (bbbrrrrrr) 42 is the expected high for Christmas day.

Happy Holidays to all and a blessed, sober 2009.

Happy snow days, Beach Girl!! It is a little snowy here, but supposed to be down in the single digits tonight!! (Northeast Ohio). I too have a doggy who likes the snow, and she looks so dear out playing in it.

I love doing the things you were mentioning, just hanging out with myself once in awhile.

Dad is coming over tonight for Christmas Dinner early (so he can head to Florida on the 26th) and I have the most delectable slow-cooking roast in the oven. I keep jumping back in bed, as the wind chill is below zero, to warm up my footsies!

I am with you in spirit, as you wait out the storm, in peaceful and happy sobriety. Sending you a big warm hug.

Joni

BG, you sound so cozy up there in the snow, what a nice time soberity gives us. you continue to enjoy that pretty white Christmas.  I've experienced a few myself, it does add something.  I live in the tropics, it's just not the same atmosphere, yesterday another friend was blogging about going on a sleigh ride, while i took a speed boat ride to another island to be at my brohters house which is in a tropical forest with orchids all around, and a palm tree for a Christmas tree.

But I am grateful for all experiences, and thankful for the reason for the season.  Smiling back at ya from my side of the circle.  Merry Christmas.  Deb

Hi Beachgirl. Love the snow. Lots to do. A white Christmas here in Arizona. Even we Alanoners struggle with doing the right when there are circumstances. I tend to play the blame game when it snows. what a victim I am when "I" have to shovel the snow, "I" have to bring in the wood. "I" have so much to do. Poor, Nancy. The reality of it is that it is beautiful Saw some blue bird flying to the tress. Cross counry skiied everyday.

In support,
Nancy

I want the white stuff!! It's not really christmas without it...here it's only 6 degrees, but that's a heat wave cuz last week it was 15-20 below. Too cold to snow but lots of wind and ice. The weather channel said 70% chance of snow on tuesday, so maybe I'll get my white christmas after all...
Everyone have a happy sober holiday...
Love to all, cheri

you can have all that.  If I'm not at a ski resort or snowmobiling, I've got no use for it.   It's pretty but I worked outside for 15 winters hanging off the side of hi-rise buildings in DC praying that I could make it through another winter.  Post the pics, I'll enjoy those.   smile.gif
