Forgiveness
Forgiving is a skill few of us come by naturally. We have to practice it. Used daily, forgiving ourselves and others can bring harmony to our lives and a newfound well of energy for us to return to again and again.
“If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.”
— Chinese proverb

Acceptance
True contentment and happiness come in accepting the people and events around us and learning to flourish in our place on this spinning planet. Turn to this little book whenever acceptance seems out of reach.
“In walking, just walk. In sitting, just sit. Above all, don’t wobble.”
— Yun Men

Contentment
Contentment happens here and now in incremental and surprising moments. When we discover our contentment within, we escape the spinning top of desire. When we diligently cultivate these moments, they can last a lifetime.
“If you want to be happy, be.”

------------------------------------

So many things in life can cause us concern and worry: work, love, money, the things we own or don’t own, physical appearance. Each one of these large segments of our life can be an obstacle to happiness; taken together, the accumulation of life concerns can become an enormous boulder blocking our way.

------------------------------------

Listening to the world with your heart opens a window to the soul. In this place you are able to see that truth is everywhere. It flows through the rivers and the oceans. It sings through the wind in the trees and in the cry of a newly born child. It comes to our hearts through Light as seen in the beauty of a rainbow. It reaches us in every breath we take and whispers I AM HERE. May the Golden Way lead your heart dancing to a truth you have always known and bring you the love you seek.

-------------------------------

All the self-help books and advice, all the therapy and support groups, even the most fabulous, successful career in the world won’t really help at all—until we learn to love ourselves. Until we practice loving ourselves—and it takes a lot of practice—we will never be able to love others fully and completely. When we haven’t learned how to love ourselves well, we keep getting stuck on this simple first rung of the ladder—not knowing how or how well to treat others, having problems with what we call boundaries, stumbling in the swamps of low self-esteem and thickets of self-loathing that derail us in our efforts to ‘love others as we love ourselves.’”

For so many of us, loving ourselves is our greatest emotional problem. Self-love is not narcissism, egotism, greed, self-righteousness, self-involvement, stubbornness, or conceit—all of which have given genuine self-love a bad name. ”Rather, it is the singing spring from which we become who we were—each one of us—most truly meant to be.”
