Two powerful techniques to stop worrying right now

First, when you start to think of the future and are on the brink of anxiety, just say to yourself, "we'll see".

Two small words, but they are powerful and can prevent a lot of worry. You do not know what is going to happen tomorrow or further down in life, so why worry about what might or might not happen.

We worry because it is a habit and the best way to break the habit is to replace any worry thought with the positive expression "we'll see".

The reason why this technique works so well is because the vast majority of our worries never eventuate. That is a fact. Even though they are a figment of our imagination, they cause a lot of distress and can bring on health problems and premature ageing. Since, in general, worries do not manifest, it is pointless to worry.

By saying "we'll see", every time you think of some possible future event, the mind will eventually give up worrying since it has learned not to project itself into the future.

The other way this technique works is based on the fact that whatever we think about we tend to attract. In other words, what we fear, we tend to attract. This is especially so, if we keep worrying about the same thing. This principle feeds on repetition. But by replacing a worry with "we'll see", we are no longer giving power to that worry; nor are we encouraging that worry to happen.

Another good expression to use to replace worry is "forget results". If you are in business and worrying about how business will go this week, replace that worry with the thought, "forget results".

The cause of success is one of application. For example, it you are working on a project and worry about results, you are not applying to it the hundred per cent concentration the project deserves. The worrying makes you omit things and make mistakes.

Concentrate on what you are doing. If you do the right things, if the cause is taken care of, then the results will take care of themselves.

This expression gives us great relief, since we can now put all our attention on the causes of success and stop wasting time on worrying.

Directness

So much of our communication can reflect our need to control. We say what we think others want to hear. We try to keep others from getting angry, feeling afraid, going away, or disliking us. But our need to control traps us into feeling like victims and martyrs.

Freedom is just a few words away. Those words are our truths. We can say what we need to say. We can gently, but assertively, speak our mind.

Let go of your need to control. We do not need to be judgmental, tactless, blaming, or cruel when we speak our truths. Neither do we need to hide our light. Let go, and freely be who you are.

Today, I will be honest with others, and myself knowing that if I don't, my truth will come out some other way.
