I have contacted a friend in Nairobi, Kenya and asked if he has access to any information on recovery groups in Senegal. It's a longshot. Both Nairobi and South Africa are worlds away from Senegal.

I'll do some more digging. I know a couple people in Johannesburg but unfortunately they are not sober, but perhaps they might also have access to a directory from Senegal. I'll give it a whirl.

I am a member of the committee that responds to the "urgent" help requests that are generated when peopel hit the urgent help buttons on the various web sites accross the internet. I decided to try this forum as in my internet search I noted one of the members state that they had a friend in Senegal. A long shot I know.. but always worth a try.

I know this thread is almost 4 years old but I just moved to Senegal and I am sober. If you still have the contact info of this person and he or she is still in country, I would love to get in touch. The only other sober person I know in country just moved back to the USA and I'm looking for more sober people!!! Thanks!

I came recently to Dakar and Senegal and have spent a whole week looking for contacts for any alcoholic here or meetings but have not had even one.

I know I need a meeting and will soon get desperate as this is the only way thta I can be sober.

Pls help. Iam willing to share my tel and emailk with any alcoholic in Dakar Senegal.

Iam scared of what can happen to me without a meeting or sober contact.

Dear Gary,

Someone contacted me and I now have information that there is a weekly Tuesdays meeeting in Dakar City in Senegal at a place called Ouakam.

I will be attending my first meeting here next tuesday on 30th May 2013 and Iam really excited to have found a place to meet with people who know my disease and understand me.

Hey! I am looking for a meeting in Senegal. I have tried a couple of numbers I was given with no luck. I found some info on the aa.org site that said there were Tuesday meetings (time unknown) at a place called Oukam near a shopping center called Dakar City. Does anybody know anything else. I will start a meeting if there isn't one already.

Hi everyone. I'm not familiar with this site yet. I applied to join the Peace Corps and I'm eligible for programs in Senegal and Cameroon. I couldn't find any meetings in Senegal on the international directory. Are there indeed any meetings? How do people contact each other on this site to find meetings?

I am pleased to say ... yes there is a meeting !

It s at the home of Damien Masterson, currently the AA regional contact in Dakar, Senegal.

It is in the Ouakam neighborhood, right near the Renaissance Monument statue. The address is:

They meet been meeting every Tuesday at 6:30 pm, and on weekends when possible.

I am a part of the MIP family and drop in here from time to time.

The MIP Alanon and ACA groups continue to function here.

The AA board much less so.

Nice to see a posting that is AA related. aww ...

You are welcome . I originally wrote here looking for help for someone... it is still hard to find that in some places, but at least there are far more internet meetings than there used to be.
