Hi family! I am so happy today! It is one of those days where everything fell into place and went so smooth I am afraid to pinch myself! Anyway to start I am sober 6 days today and that may not seem much but to me it is an eternity! Anyway, I have been battling mysterious physical pain in my mouth, tounge, ear, neck and glands. Been to many docs. beenn on different meds ect. Even did a sleep over observasion. Well my favorite doc of them all and I agreeed that the two rotten teeth in my mouth might very well be the cause of it all! I was terrified! Had (thought I had no) no insurance and live on very small budjet of soc. sec. check a month. Well I called a dentist near my house explained my situation and she said they take this thing called Care Credit and I could apply online. I really didnt think I would pass cause of bad credit but no! I was accepted and approved!! So excited. So he took me this afternoon and here is a miricle,,,,,she asked what insurances do I have I gave her my medicaide card and she had it for a while. She then called me up to the counter and told me the awsome news@@@@ Well I dont remember doing it but when I signed up for medicaide I got a dental plan with it!! It covered everything from today!! I didnt even need to use the care cradit!! And the doc was just the nicest I have ever met and he made me feel so comfortable and safe. He said the one tooth was abseced real bad and totally accounts for my ear ache and glands and the toungue was being cut from how sharp the tooth is. Anyway he gave me antibiotic today and I go back in 2 weeks and he will remove two terrible teeth and fix my upper denture!! I am just so stunned and amazed how this all turned out! So I get home relax a bit and the evil voice started talking,,, hey lets celebrate! Go get some beer. I just laughed at the thoughts and ate my butt off LOL It is so nice to finally be able to post something positive. I have been so negative for so long its nice to not be complaining! Love you all! Allison
I have been following your story and am so glad to hear the outcome - and congratulations on 6 days! Good job at telling that little voice where to go. Man, mine drives me nuts!

Looking back I have amazed myself at how I couldn't afford certain things, but I always found a way to support my alcohol and cigarettes! Getting sober has allowed me to prioritize my finances, also. What a blessing I have received from that and what a blessing you've received also to find the care you needed. Had you not put the plug in the jug it would be no nevermind at this point.
Glad things are working out and looking up.....

Congrats on six sober days. That's great. And, it's great news about your dental plan.
Well done on ignoring that voice in your head. In the early days of my sobriety would would talk at me constantly. In the end, it knew that I would ignore it and didn't bother as much.
It's great that you are feeling so positive. Keep up the good work.
Take care,
Carol

Great news alisn! One important thing comes to mind...take all of your antibiotics no matter what! Especially with an absessed tooth as the infection can migrate to other places!!! Sooo, very important to finish it as directed!!!!
Keep up the good work...seems to me "someone: is trying to tell you how good it can get!!!
