I attended an awesome AA/Alanon camp-out this weekend on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. Freedom in Sobriety. The speakers were inspiring - AA, Alanon, and Alateen. The Alateen speakers in particular were so powerful. I went to sleep under a full moon listening to a drum group. I am committed to keep working on my recovery program.
Wow, Nancy. That sounds so awesome......I'm going on one the 3rd weekend in October. It will be in the mountains of N.C. with the Breathe Group. I'm sooooo looking forward to it.

Lani, you should come to Cook's forest PA sometime, where hundreds of AA's around here go every year to camp out. It is awesome.
Nancy, sounds like you had a PERFECT weekend, and Arizona would be such a great place for a camp out! So glad you got to enjoy yourself with other recovering folks!

yes hello the AA camps are a great way to spend a week end, i used to go to one here in south australia, at a place named walkers flat, on the banks of the river murray, the first one i went to in 1993 began on a friday afternoon, and it was so interesting that i went to bed at about 1am in the morning. in the mens sleeping quarters that i was in were about 16 of us in a tin shed full of double bunks, when i got in there there was a chorus of snorers lol. some low and deep some high pitched, had i bought a cd player with me i could have recorded a new song for the musical charts, of south australian radio lol, but it was a great venue for meeting people from all walks of life, and overseas people were there too, a week end not to be missed if your not to busy, cheers peter.
