So I got into a heated argument with a member here and didn't plan on coming back, but I like this forum and find many positives and great people-Rosie and Quetzal especially!smile

The market was down 300 pts plus today (344, Nasdaq down 74, S+P down 38). I had some profits that I took yesterday-I'm half psychicwink jk. But today was brutal. A normal day would be take an early day, pound beers at the pool hall, hit the local bar near my house, drink whiskey til I can't, then grab a 32 or 40oz and head home. Instead, I hung out with a friend/hope to be girlfriendaww and went straight home. Not the slightest urge to drink. On the flipside, if the market was up 300+, I would've done the same thing to 'celebrate', as opposed to 'drown my sorrows'.

I went to a meeting yesterday and it helped reinforce what I've been feeling. I'm in contact with 2 guys who gave me their #.  I've always been shy/nervous/anxious about speaking out in public, so I'm not completely ready to 'share' just yet, but I'll break out of my shell soon. Day 34 and I know I will get through this. Good luck to all!

Thanks guys, it's nice to post again and read about everyone else's goings on. We are all here for help, advice, and support, that's the bottom line. Making friends along the way is just an added bonus. Whatever happens in my personal life (I'm eyeing a SWEET 2 bdrm apt)
alcohol is not an issue. I probably sound like a 30 year clean veteran. If I get the apt, I'll be ecstatic. No champagne to celebrate. If not, I'll be upset, but I would not consider drinking at all.

Glad to be back! I hate reality shows with a passion, but I do like Kitchen Nightmares and it's starting now, so good night all!

From my experience we all take sobriety "One Day at a Time", so yeh, you do sound like a 30 year veteran!!  wink.gif

Hi Steve, I am so happy to see you posting!! You are a dear special man. You sound wonderful and day 34 is so wonderful. The sober days add up and it is all positive even on bad days as opposed being drunk and those days add up quickly but nothing at all positive and then looking back over them is so heartwrenching.

So 34 days sober is a blessed time.

I hope you get the apartment. Also if you focus on something it will come into being. I had a friend who tried to focus herself and she decided to try an experiment of focusing on a blue leaf coming into her life.

She and I were talking on the phone and she said they had blue leaves on a show she was watching. Very rare but it happened. I think that means that a lot of things get passed by us because our focus is off.

Or we feel we will not get what we wish for so we do not allow our focus to go there. So focus dear soul like you are and have been doing and it will all be revealed. And the new girl sounds nice! You deserve all the happiness. Have a great day, Rosie
