Reaching out is such a blessing

Hi All, I am so blessed.

I was able to meet with the group of ladies who do the substance abuse program and we are meeting again tonight. We also, with the help of my mentor, have figured out a way to all be able to go to the city for AA meetings.

I read what I wrote about the first step and all of my feelings about the things that happened here in this town with AA and all of it. The girls and my mentor are now going to do a car pool and we can all take turns driving or if my mentor uses one of her vehicles that is a good sized van then we would give her money for gas.

So we meet 3 nights a week and hopefully will do meetings on Saturdays plus during the week. We have all got to get our schedules and the meeting list for the city and make it happen.

I also meet with my counselor on Monday who is the addiction counselor and AA is big for him but he understands my feelings about AA here in my town. So we meet twice a week and I will have the meetings plus our group 3 times a week. And I got my Mom everyday!!

I am blessed. Also my daughter in law and her Mom are behind me 100%. And they do not drink so we have plans on doing things and they said they would be happy to accompany me to meetings in the city.

Miracles do happen!

I got bogged down in my rut and alcoholic thinking and so used to isolating this past year that I forgot how it is to reach out and how much loved I am by my family and friends. I know I love them and they love me but I was in such a fog.
Even though I relapsed this past two weeks has been very rewarding and I have come a long ways picking back up my sobriety. I feel I did not lose anything except time. It is all there for me to tap back into.

I worked hard on sobriety and earned a lot. It has been sitting there waiting. Also I see higher levels for me to earn also.

I love this forum and it is a great thing for me at midnight when I cannot sleep. So I come on and read. I will let you all know how it goes with the meeting tomorrow. And we are having lunch on the waterfront there. It is beautiful. With big boats and a place to walk for miles around the waterfront. A path was made and it has plaques with historical writings of the area.

My closed little world is expandingbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Thank you all, Rosie
