Hi All, I went to my first AA meeting since March of this year. It was held in the same place as in March. I loved it!!

The topic was mainly of not following through with committments to ourselves and others. And of people who drink the night before but who are still drunk in the morning and who drink to feel better the next morning.

I must say that today at about 4:30 pm I started to feel like I would just finish the day on the computer and not do some things I had wanted to in my home. Sloth hit me hard and I had about 15 minutes of thinking of excuses to use that I did go to the meeting tonight like I had committed to.

But I came on and read PJ's experience at her AA meeting and the fact I had pushed her to go and I had a sobering moment and got myself up and cleaned my house, washed some rugs, vaccumed, did up my dishes and took a real nice shower and did a facial and did my hair. I dressed nice and got into the car and went to the meeting.

I feel so grateful and when I drove away from the meeting I looked at the sky over the lake and saw the most beautiful pink sky. My senses were heightened and I felt so in awe of life and how I feel.

I am going tomorrow night also. I got a 24 hr to 29 day chip and everyone was so welcoming and nice. A woman sat beside me who was 17 days sober and she had drank a lot of coffee today and she said she felt ill. I talked to her about it. She had not drank coffee for a long long time and it got to her.

Great meeting. As I sat there I realized how much strength I have gotten from this forum and all you beautiful people. I had you with me. God bless you all, Love Rosie

Rosie, so glad to hear you got to a meeting and enjoyed it.  That pink sky was a nice finishing touch.

I love going to meetings, I just came back from a great one here in my little town.

Have a great night!  Debsmile

Hi Deb, Yes it was a nice touch and it feels good to go do something that entails being sober and come back home so I do not get antsy from isolating. I would normally feel I needed to go out to a bar just to be around people but it did not feel right to me and I felt lonely even amongst people in the bar.

But at an AA meeting I feel at home and not lonely at all and so fulfilled. And oh so hopeful and blessed. Thank you Deb. lol Rosie

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my meetings. I don't feel quite 'right' when I don't get atleast 5 in a week.

Good for you, Rosie. You're doing great!

(hugs)

Hi Doll, I know how that can be to go and feel better. I have felt that in the past but this time it is so different for me and the feeling of going is an accepting and a strong desire to do so no matter what.

I do not feel the torn feeling I used to and a peace has come over me. Thank you for your support. Take care Rosie

Thanks for sharing rosie! Love your posts. Meetingsfor me are a great "time out" of the busyness I can create. They help keep me sober and remind me of why just for today, I cant drink!

Oh Rosie!  You write it all so well!  I'm glad you went.  I'm glad I went!  I am supposed to go today at noon; found out this morning that my cable TV company is coming out today between noon and 3:00 (of course!).  I feel guilty and disappointed, as I so wanted to get back to my little group of kind (and of like kind) people!  Fortunately, I have some of their phone numbers so will call and tell them why I am not there today...  I will go tomorrow.
Therefore, I have my forum family AA group to keep me strong today!  I really hate to miss them the 2nd day of live AA- as I said, it was a very small group, and quite diverse!  But we shared such a common bond; as I do with you.  What day are on now, Rosie?  I believe I'm one day behind you?  You go girl! YOU inspire me!  BTW, we got the equipment put together so got to work on buffing the body! ha! biggrin
I feel so happy and serene these days!aww

Hi All I am on day 11 PJ. I am going to the meeting tonight at 6:30. Do you have meetings later in the day today? You can look up the list or call your local AA to ask. In case you need to change times.

We have only one per day for a few days and then a few on other days but they are all at around the same time in the evening. So it makes it hard to pick and chose if I want to change the time of day from early to later.

I got one noon meeting on Tuesdays. I like noon meetings. It helps the day to even out.

Thank you all for your support. Love Rosie
