Just wanted to share a "feel good" story with ya. About a month ago I received an e-mail from a lady in upstate New York. Her brother had just passed away and she was wondering if I had ever written a poem about an alcoholic going to heaven because he had already spent his time in hell.
She went on to say that her brother was lost for many years, but he did die sober. He achieved sobriety four years before his death. She said it was great to have her brother back.
Anyway I worked on a poem for her and it was read at a couple of memorial services for her brother. I sat on this poem since then wondering what I was going to do with it. Well, I made a video of it. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for sharing your creativity with us, Dave. It's a beautiful poem you've written & some fantastic images to bring your words to more light. I'm sure your friend found much peace in your efforts. I hope this can spread to others as they find it too. God bless our Sobervibers again for today & may many alcoholics find their way to AA too, Daniella x

Ummmmm, I am at a complete loss of words. Dave, you are truly blessed with a gift from God. For the longest time my mantra was " I will concede a battle, to win a war" Never in my wildest thoughts did I ever relate it to my progress in A.A. That's why people like me are so thankful for people like you. And let's not forget the true hero in this, the man in the poem.
Sir, as you watch from above, all I can say is "Well done, well done". Rest, and rejoice.

Thanks Dave for sharing the beautiful poem. I agree, your friend probably found alot of peace and perhaps understanding through you and your HP!!! What a great gift to share!
