Just got back from an awesome meeting...
Just curious......
One gal just suffered a stroke and has weakness and slurred speech, things are very "slow" for her.
She wonders, "why me, I cant figure it out"
She has great sobriety and tremendous faith but we still, honestly, ask ourselves "why",  when tragedy strikes us.

Im sure there are alot of different points of view on this subject and wondering if anyone is willing to share there opinion/words of wisdom on this rather delicate subject!

Thanks, Lani

Life Happens.

And bad stuff sometimes happens, that we have no control over.

Part of life.

Every time I ask  "Why Me"??

This Big Booming voice, answers from above.

"Why Not You?"

Had to go hunt for this it was printed on the prgram that was handed out at my grandmas funeral

God hath not promised
Skies always blue
Flower strewn pathways
All our life through

God hath promised
Strength for the day
Rest for the labor
Light for the way
Grace for the trials
Help from above
Unfailing sympathy
Undying love

take cvare

It isn't for her to figure out. It isn't for us to figure out.

We, being God's creatures, can't call everything that hurts us or can't quantify, a tragedy. The fact that we don't understand belies the perfection in his planning.
We will eventually understand and see the 'big plan', but it won't be on this plane, or in this realm.

"Cheer up my brother, live in the sonshine,
We'll understand it all by and by."
from 'Farther Along'

I like Phil's answer "why not me?". But really, most of the medical issues that we have/get we are at least partially responsible for through life style, diet, posture, accidents... The american way is to assume that this stuff "just happens" to us and look for a magic pill or an operation to solve it. I would even go as far to say that mild to moderate forms of depression can be caused by dwelling on the past or future and linked to diet/lack of exercize. Exercize is the #1 treatment for depression btw.
