Wow. What a week. I have not been on the computer much at all lately, as I come home wiped out every night. Thought I would check in.
There is a busy dry-club on my way home from work, and my recovery beckoned me to go in and get a meeting a couple of times this past week, which was very much needed. I have had a few "moments" where I thought of drink, but I am so glad my Higher Power has seen fit to gently "remind" me that this is not a true way to relax, unwind, or de-brief from a stressful day.
Work is often chaotic. Wesee far more patients each day than one could even imagine would come through a practice in 8 hours. I am talking about getting just barely up into TRIPLE DIGITS on some days. But it is an insanity thati love, and I am so very glad that my husband recognizes that I really need to be left ALONE on many nights after a long day. There are a lot more pizza boxes around here than ever before, and I relaly like it better that way. LOL
This weekend is one I will hold dearto my heart. Just me here, relaxing. The boys (my stepsons) are flying in Tuesday from Oklahoma to spend 6 weeks with us, so I need all the relaxation and rejuvenation I can get this weekend. I plan on asking for HELP from them around the house, this time around. There is no way as a recovering alcoholic I can do all the "Disney Land" stuff their dad wants to do, and work like I do, and keep my sanity. Wish me luck in setting some extra rules this summer with them.
Thanks for letting me ramble, and I miss you all. Will be trying to continue to get here regularly, as it is such an important part of my recovery.
love, joni

Thanks for checking in, Joni. I'm glad you've been busy & enjoying the hyperactivity all that work stuff brings you. You sound like you thrive on it & bat everything back. I'm glad you're seeing the boys too. They say a change is as good as a rest & I hope your partner has the energy to spoil the three of you! I'm sure you've both plenty to share.
I'm ok too ;) It's been very busy with newcomers here lately & everyone has been sharing lots of ES&H. Except for me :) I'll usually read every single post even if it takes me a few days to catch up. I've been away for the weekend since last Friday & then been with Carl all week until yesterday so I've been away from MIP. He posted the 24 for me Saturday & Sunday & I've just about managed to do the rest & read member's posts over this week. I haven't added greeting replies to Newcomers posts but I hope you all know I'm thinking of you & rooting for you :D
Anyways, I just wanted to reciprocate the check~in & let you know you're missed, Joni. Come back & relax awhile with us when you've a little more time to chill. We'll leave the light on for you & keep your seat warm. Loads of recovery love, Daniella x

Yep, the kitchen is pink ( and white). Looks like a cross between an ice cream soda shop, a doll house and a bedroom- with a little bit of kitchen thrown in . I'd love to send pix but I don't have the technology. La Vie en Rose, translates, I believe as "life is pink." Hence my kitchen. BeachGirl
hi again, all!! Thanks for the check-in replies. BG, your kitchen sounds adorable!! Gosh, the hard work!! I never want to paint my kitchen cupboards again!!! LOL
Lani, sad to say that I acted like an idiot too!! A deck and a case of beer, and it was time to call the police. Do not miss those days at all!!
Take care everyone, and have a greatweek. See you soon!@!

I had never heard of Dry Tortugas before. Cool looking place.
a nice place to camp in Ft. Jefferson, or anchor up in harbor. If you go to key west, or Ft. Meyers, you can catch a commercial hydroplane (or sea plane) and be there in 45 minutes, ditto from Ft. Meyers to Key West. Ft. Jefferson contains 16 million bricks, and was the home (incarseration) of Dr. Mudd, who was convicted for aiding and abetting John Wilkes Booth for setting his broken leg.
