Valor

When World War II broke out, this spiritual principle had its first major test.
AA's entered the services and were scattered all over the world.
Would they be able to take discipline, stand up under fire,
and endure the monotony and misery of war?
Would the kind of dependence they had learned in AA carry them through?
Well, it did. They had even fewer alcoholic lapses or emotional binges
than AA's safe at home did.
They were just as capable of endurance and valor as any other soldiers.
Whether in Alaska or on the Salerno beachhead,
their dependence upon a Higher Power worked.
And far from being a weakness, this dependence
was their chief source of strength.

Thought to Ponder....

It works - it really does.

Great reminder for me today that we can make it through anything!!!!!!

If these men and woman didn't drink while serving our country, so can I when adversity comes my way! By trusting my HP, first and foremost, calling someone, working the program and just plain being honest with myself!!!

I've struggled the most with my sobriety when dealing with my husband. We'll be married 20 years in October and I'm surprised we made it this far. But, I must say, one promise is coming true for me. We now have a mutual respect and love for each other that is deeper than it has ever been. We both are learning to be more kind and considerate of each other. We are going through this journey of life together, as a team.

Not to say that tomorrow I wont feel like killing or leaving him! But lately it has been awesome....

He got mad about our dishwasher the other day and went off on a rampage. He's totally type A, where I dont get ruffled to easily.....Ended up apologizing to the whole family and is now seeing how crazy he can be at times! Its all fear driven and today we have nothing to fear! The light bulb is coming on for both of us!!!! NICE!!!!!

Enjoy your holiday and pray it stops raining!!!!!

The old dishwasher rampage!! I have to say that the dishwasher probably was not innocent in this eposide, but I am glad you guys worked it out. I usually wait until my wife is not looking and give ours little kicks to keep it in line.
