Losing Stuff

One of my biggest pet peeves and fears is about/surrounds  losing stuff.
I'm not a "a place for everything and everything in it's place"  kinda person.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely disorganized, I just tend to keep the stuff that I'm using regularly or stuff that involes things that I'm working on, out where I can see them and they remind me to do them.  smile.gif

My significant other is more of the "a place for everything...."  type, which is fine except when she applies that concept to my shit. furious   It's one thing to relocate someone elses stuff, and tell them about it, but that's not usually the case.  And I'm telling you that It's the only complaint that I have about this arrangement, but it bugs the shit out of me, and I don't seem to get those feeling across.  I've ananlysed it and it must go back to childhood and mom throwing my stuff away or something but man does it ever bug me.

This too shall pass Deeno.

When you get to be my age..You cant remember what you lost or misplaced anyway.

You just go out and buy another one..I have 5 or 6 of lots of things.

When someone asks me what my name is? It takes 15 seconds to remember it.

I think its Shithead...

At least..thats what most people call me..:)

um....what was the subject again???

sorry Phil, I'm still in that stage where I think that I still have my stuff together. maybe I'm getting close to accepting that stuff comes and goes and not to worry about it.

Ha! I'm a person that tries to have a place for everything. It doesn't always work, especially when I'm not the only person in my household (or my company, for that matter) and so I try to not get to bent about stuff. I also don't get too attached to stuff and the few things that are important to me I keep locked in a file cabinet in my office.

I also am kind of scatter brained- a real liability when it comes to specifics and details of day to day stuff- and so I kind of have to have a "spot" for each item and a regimen of putting stuff where it goes.

I was just about to post something in the Glucose thread about  Kosakoff's syndrome and memory loss, but I forgot what it was. weirdface

Perhaps you can have a little corner of your new house that is "your" area....Here you keep all your "stuff" and no one is allowed to touch it! Especially since you are getting up there in years (lol), this will help you locate the things you need.
The garage and my husbands dresser top are off limits for me.... The rest of the stuff to put stuff is MINE!!!!! LOL

sounds good lani,  maybe we can take a step further, since we own 5 houses now, perhaps we can just call this one mine  smile

AH accused me of the misplacing things. Finally gave me my own tools which worked well.
LOL Funny though I'd went a bought my own needle nose plyers. Couldn't find them so
went and bought another pair. They too come up missing. Hum? One day when out in
his shop, found both pairs!!!!!
I have to thank him though. Taught to respect and return other's possessions quickly.Have to use varying tools to adjust machines at work. Each had it's own set.....until one employee began working where I do. UGH!!! Just the other day was beeching about one little Allen (sp?) wrench. Was always right there!!!! Fellow employee came to the rescue. We talk everyday at lunch. He's considering his own tool box with a pad lock!!!!! (And by no means will this one guy be allowed in.)

I know all too well what it's like having someone relocate your stuff, especially in your own room! Has to be one of the most annoying things for me as well. It can take my perfectly fine mood and turn it into a completely pissed off and annoyed one! lol

Siddarta Gotama once said to five guys standing in a forest in India, "The origin of suffering is attachment."

OF course the Buddha was probably never late for an appointment and couldn't find his car keys. weirdface

Ya TLH, Budhism is awesome for their theoretical lack of materialism. It's very freeing stress wise, to contimeplate the lack of possessions.

Sorry, Dean! In all the humour, completely missed your point =S Yes, I hate not knowing where stuff is & having to search for stuff. Especially when someone else has tidied them away (read hidden ;) Danielle x

Nice to see you again, Paul. How's your men's group? My women's group's going good. Been making the tea. Helps to feel wanted, needed & loved! Danielle x
