The Promises Coming True, Again

I have finally found again that sense of peace and serenity -- even in the midst of the storm -- that I had before.  Over the past few months, my whole attitude has shifted.  I am no longer a prey to misery and depression; I am no longer wallowing in self-pity.  Even when something "bad" happens, I just have a faith and belief that all will be well.  My sponsor promised when I returned to the Program 20 months ago that if I "hung in there", kept going to meetings, took meeting commitments, practiced the 12 steps, reached out to others, practiced daily prayer and meditation, I would eventually experience all the "good stuff" again.  She didn't lie!!!  And, I don't even have to do all this stuff perfectly! I'm so grateful to God and the Program, I can't even begin to fully express it.  Thank you all for being here.  For those who are new:  the Program of A.A. works.  Please keep coming back.

Love,
B.G.G. (By God's Grace)

The "good stuff" is worth staying sober isn't it? Thank you God! Congrats!

Very nice to wake up and see this post here this morning. I share your joy of a new life and serenity, BGG. This is a slow process. But I think if I woke up one day right after getting sober and everything was perfect, I would not know what to do with it. God has perfect timing, and those trials we go through are the training ground we need to become able to accept and handle, and have joy in the midst of, life on life's terms.

(((((((hugs)))))))

BGG,

I condensed your message to it's simplist form.     Gratitude =  Happiness.

If we start the day with gratitude, it will be a happy day, one day at a time smile
