Just stopping in to wish all a Merry Christmas and a blessed sober day. I have the ham in the oven and another cup of tea in hand. I was surprised by my 18 year old last night who got off work at 8 pm and drove the 100 miles home on very icy roads, those angels were with him. He said the first bridge he drove on was a bit scary, but he learned his lesson and the second one was okay. Kind of like this deal of staying sober we learn as we go ,as long as we stay on the road.
Well, I'm going to take a deep breath, make a few phone calls, then do the next right thing.
Merry Christmas to you all,Phil, Amanda, Nic, Stan, Chris, DW,Busbe.....everyone out there in recovery land. Have a great sober day.
I got through the morning. a moment at a time. I ended up at a very small service about how Jesus came into the mess of the world, and it was not like in a lot of those paintings. He even described the way Mary would have squatted to birth... and the blood and placenta! he unromanticized it... and I felt more at home,,, cuz I just couldn't handle a large choir and 100 poinsetta's and people all dressed up and putting on those smiles. Jesus came to people like me,, who are in a kind of a mess. I think I was really supposed to be there.
love in recovery,
amanda
