AA Thought for the Day

Children of Chaos

Over the years, every conceivable deviation
from our Twelve Steps and Traditions has been tried.
That was sure to be,
since we are so largely a band of ego-driven individuals.
Children of chaos,
we have defiantly played with every brand of fire,
only to emerge unharmed and, we think, wiser.
These very deviations created
a vast process of trial and error which,
under the grace of God,
has brought us to where we stand today.

Thought to Ponder....

The First Step identifies the problem.
The remaining eleven Steps are the solution.
The First Tradition identifies the solution.
The remaining eleven Traditions are how we do the First.

Ahhhh Chaos:
Dont we all just love that in our lives!!! My life used to be filled with it! Still is crazy busy and you would know that if you stood outside my house and watched me coming and going all day!

But today my mind is not whirling a mile a minute trying to figure out how Im going to catch a buzz or work my drinking into a certain timeframe so as not to conflict with what I need to do for the day. Hell at the end I didnt even care if my drinking would interfere, I just did it!

Reflecting now, I caused my own chaos! I almost feel guilty feeling so good and not worrying about what lies I need to cover up or what an ass I made of myself some days!!!!!

Wow, Lani, we share the same thoughts here... I too almost feel GUILTY at times because for the most part, my life is EASY in comparison to what it used to be. I no longer live in a constant battlefield. I can indeed fight and fight at times, but on the whole, there is a whole lot of serenity here now, and it is hard to believe it was possible.

Thank GOD for this program!!!! It is remarkable!!!
