BIG FAT CRABBY BUTT!!!!!!

i TELL YOU, I am in such a rotten mood this weekend. I am having a hard time adjusting to so many hours working during the week, the stress of the field itself, and then MORE endless WORK once the weekend comes. i slept 11 hours between Friday night and Saturday morning, and it STILL did not feel like enough. My washer and dryer have been going non-stop, and i have cleaned the kitchen umpteen times already and somehow it is a mess again. I do not even have CHILDREN here!!!!

i am just feeling run down and worn out today, and I feel very grim as to whether I can handle all this "life" stuff. Easy Does It, right? WHEN??? Those of you with kids are probably laughing because no doubt you've got it 100 times harder than I. but I would like to know how you get yourself used to a new busy schedule without losing your mind!!

Help!!  furiousfuriousfurious

Hi Joni Girl!
Sorry youre having such a bad time of things! Welcome to my world! Some days just seem like they're never going to end! My family is over for Easter. Worked last night a few hours extra, got up, cleaned up the house, made the damn ham and stuff , cleaned up and did get some help, wanted to take a nap before work and my brother jokingly says: You can sleep when you die!!!

So...shoot me!

I think the biggest adjustment is trying to do a new job and do it well. I was so insecure when I first got my liscense and that was enough stress to put me over the edge! Think my drinking excalated then! So, youre sober and thats a good thing!

The biggest and best thing you can do today is remember.....
1) you have a job
2) you have a washer and dryer
3) you have no children Haha just kidding on that one
4) you got 11 hours of sleep and had a bed to sleep in

Some days I go totally crazy and cant stand the cards Ive been dealt...
Then I remember,
Im not the one having to have someone give me a bath, whip my butt, stick shit up my butt so I can poop!!!! Its the little things!!! Hope you feel better!!! I lOve ya!!!!!

Joni,
I learned a long time ago, that one can't possibly do it all in one day. Had to decide what
was important. Some days the dishes/messes stayed right where they were left and the laundry...... unless it was a life and death situation....one load or no loads in a day. You will
not die if the household chores don't get done immediately. You will wear yourself out quickly trying to get it done. So relax!!! Stop beating yourself up.
My kids survived without that "certain shirt or pair of jeans". They survived on the occasional PBJ sandwich rather than a full course meal everytime. They survived when
the floors didn't get swept. My daughter is doing her best to do as you. Had to tell her the same. Let a few things go that little one will do okay.
Love,
Wanda

Your hardly fat. Perhaps the rest of your stuff is BS too? 100 times in the kitchen? Now now girl, lets not BS ourselves into being more miserable than we really are.

I have in my possesion one of the modern miracles of alcoholic thinking. It is called my magic magnifying mind. ;) I can make mountains out of molehills, collapsed interstate bridges from potholes, intensely personal insults out of a raised eyebrow and on it goes. Like I said, you are hardly fat.

I think if you get a little honest, things aren't that bad. Now if you want to see bad, I could post a picture of a single guys sink that has been working 60 to 90 hours a week for the last 15 years. I have learned to let go. :) The house doesn't have to be perfect unless companies coming over. Thats when I get miserable, when I worry about what other people think.

Try setting a set amount of time to buzz around the house. Kitchen and baths are the best use of your time. If my kitchen doesn't have junk mail, I'm a happy camper. if the toilet is clean and the tub sparkles too, I'm in high homemaker heaven.

heres a nineteen minute a day plan. I think I'll review it myself again.

If there is alot of things that must be done and some jobs are bigger than others, then I make a list - sit and think "how important is it" - the most important goes on the top.  At the end of the day I look at that list and be happy for the ones that I did get checked off.  So if the floor isn't swept, dishes still need to be washed or get the dusting done - it will still be there toworrow and evenually it will get done - what wasn't done toady will be on the top of the list tomorrow.   I have found in myself that if I don't keep busy that the stinkin thinkin sets in. Idle hands and mind are the devil's worshop - as my grandmother would say.

Later - Jeannie

Hi Joni,

Been sidetracked for just over a week and am just now getting to your post. I hope everything has resolved itself and that you've found the groove that works for you to get you through the adjustment period that is always associated to a new job.

You've worked really hard to open this new door in your life and it should be all right to be the new girl at work for a while. Trust that the learning curve is there and it's not a straight 90 right angle.

The last post of yours I read was how excited and grateful you were to be able to contribute and be part of that world. This is what you're bringing to the table, others there will see it and they, like us will be grateful that you're there.

You're doing great! You've come so far biggrin
