Well folks, here I am -- 30 days without a drink.  I am astounded by how much better I feel, physically and emotionally.  Of course, I have a lot of work to do -- I romanticize drinking, I'm self-centered and not always as honest as I should be -- but at least I'm sober (today).  I have found so much comfort in AA meetings, here, and with my sponsor.  I realize there are many, many people who used to feel like I do, took certain steps, and now have a better life.  And they want me to have a better life, too, and are willing to help me get it.  For now, I'm doing what my sponsor tells me to do, even if I don't understand it or agree with it.

So, a sincere thank you to all of you here who have listened to me, supported me, and shared your insight with me.

You're lucky you didn't SEE me in those first few days, Dean.  I was a scary sight, I'm told.  And I thought I was holding things together so well, fooling everyone!

We should be the ones thanking you for helping Us stay sober. That's how it works, now that you have 30 days you get to help the newcomers when they walk into the doors and they help you stay sober too. smile.gif))
