Ive just got back from a really good meeting that the lady from the helpline took me to. It was in a church and there were lots of really nice people there. I even met up with an old friend who was a bridesmaid with me at my sons godmothers wedding. Feeling great.
Wow! So happy for you, KLT. The meetings really are a great place to be. I too went to a meeting today, at 2 weeks sober. It felt like I was "home". I ran into a lady with 24 years sober, who was once my therapist. Talk about feeling cared for and loved there. I am going to another one tomorrow if I can. And I am glad we can BOTH feel great this eveing.
((((hugs)))) Joni

Hi guys, Been busy and didnt get to welcome you! Sooo, welcome! Glad you had a great meeting! It only gets better. Went to a womens luncheon yesterday. 185 women were there!!!! Talk about power in numbers! Food was great, one gal played piano and we sang carols. Check this out. They do a sobriety countdown. Starting with day one, they go thru the months and you form a circle when your sobriety time is called. At one year, there were quite a few of us standing in the circle. But, you would not believe how many MORE women were still seated!!! So, they went on until the last few were left. Thirty years by one and the "winner" had 40 years!!! Dang hard to believe!! I had goose bumps the whole afternoon!!! So, keep coming back!!! Party down!!! Lani
