So it's been 20 days today without a drink or drug- Thank you God. Again, lots of meetings and sticking close to recovered/recovering alcoholics and addicts, who are an incredible bunch.
I have received many gifts already the past 3 weeks. Just trying to help myself, receive help, and help others. Much better than destroying myself in seeking temporary "relief," an insane way to live.
Take Care,
-Joel

Yep, that temporary "relief" can last for a few hours, but the damage to our bodies, our minds, and to our relationships, along with the resulting pain, can go on for weeks, months and years.
Congrats on the 20 days, Joel! Here's wishing you 1000 times more than that!
