God grant me the laughter to help me see the past with perspective, face the future with hope, and celebrate today--- without taking myself too seriously.
God, grant me the laughter to help me see the past with perspective, face the future with hope, and celebrate today--- without taking myself too seriously.

I'm an idealist. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way. :)

Hi Doll.
Your post is so true, the ability to laugh about the past is so valuable. To be able to laugh at ones actions and to forgive ourselves is a wonderfull thing. For that I am greatfull.
I am also thankfull that I was rarely an antisocial drunk. My 'friends' always found me to be amusing!
And I thought they were all laughing WITH me not AT me!
I went on a sober visit to one of my old drinking haunts tonight, I worked in the place for 2 1/2 years. Now that I'm sober, I lasted about 15 minutes before I had to get out. Other peoples insanity is just too much!
In a way I feel sorry for the people in there. Most of them are not 'alcoholics' just once a week binge drinkers. Making themselves look stupid one day a week. I found it really embarassing watching it from 'the outside'. just can't believe I was once one of them, but for me it was every day.
Enough from me.
Hope you're all ok
Best wishes
Chris.
