This is a simple program but it isn't easy. We cannot take the principles we learn and thereby possess them as if we were taking a class or reading a book. We need to live them. We can only get this program by participating with others who are also on the journey. Gradually we absorb it into every fiber of our being. This takes time and dedication.
######ROSIE.....you know i used to read self help books, and wonder WHY they weren't "changing my life" like Louise Hay's book "you can change your life" she is talking about "oh yeah, 30 days and a new you" well that happens in the movies maybe, but for me???? i had to WORK the literature...do a SHARE on it.....over and over again....WORK it....practice it.....feel it...meditate on it.......and it took MONTHS for me to see any changes...... **participation* and work and RE work, is what did it for me......i wanted the *quick fix* and it doesn't happen....whats meaningful??? for me??? took TIME.....fellowship with other recovery folks....going to meets....that is what does it.....talking/ sharing with OTHER 12 Steppers.........it is like pouring water on the dried out/ cracked soil of my mind/ emotions.....the water at first, spilled over the side, my soil was too parched...too long deprived of the *water of healthy living* so i had to *pour slowly* and let it seep in gradually....now my soil is more moist to the touch....i can feel the roots of my spirit drinking now!!!!! i worked the **you know what* out of this program to get as far as i am....i put in 2-4-6 sometimes 8 hours per day in my recovery.....i did/ do/ and will always to the entire program......because i need this...i crave a healthy life .....
The honesty required is sometimes frightening and painful. Any man who remains faithful to this program has great courage and deserves deep respect. But we do not have to wait long to begin receiving the rewards. New freedoms, good feelings, and friendships quickly develop, and we are promised in this program to continue growing and to receive more benefits throughout our lives. What rewards have come from our courage and struggle?I will give much to my spiritual growth because it gives much to me.
######ROSIE.....i noticed my progress in about 4 months i began to see that "hey this workds"......new perception of me/ God/ Life....it was gradual but it was working.......this program gives me what i give IT......and i am reaping the rewards now......thank you DONE.....

Reaping what I sew hu? Like knitting a sweater, and getting the needles stuck up butt some days.
Ohhhh--we are talking about seeds? are we?
Hmmm-if one, plants grasseed --it hasta be watered on a daily basis--or it shrivels up--turns brown--and dies.
Ouch.
Used to deal with artificial turf. Didnt work--it wasnt real. (smile)
