this is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because we truely see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult- once we truly understand and accept it- then life is no longer difficult. Because once it's accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.

Donnamaria, I remember when I first read "A Road Less Traveled", I had just got into recovery and it was a huge eye-opener.Life isn't easy and it's okay to admit it.
I was always saying "Why, God?" "Why did you allow this to happen, and why did you let this happen to me?" One day it was as though I heard Him say out loud, "Why not, you are the only one who could deal with it, the only one who could survive it."
Oh, okay, I see, I did survive and I will continue too.

I was actually given that book also in my early sobriety. I couldn't put it down. yes for the longest time I thought God put me on this earth to see how much pain and disappointments one can take before ending it. figured I was always being punished. I did the why's all the time,
Now I know god doesn't give me anything I can't handle, and if he does he always puts someone in my life that will help. I been told that wonderful phrase " This to shall Pass".
so when things get bad I repeat that in my head and "Thy will be done". and I handle it better, cause regardless of how good or bad things seem it always passes.
