I'm intrigued by the fact you call yourself an old hippie. Just curious if you'd like to share what puts you in that catagory? I happen to be a "new" hippie. Found The Dead about 20 yrs ago and it changed my life!!
Hope you'll share.

Actually, I started college in 1969, (really giving away my age on that one!)
Someday I may post a picture of me in my paisley shirt, striped bell bottoms, long hair, and love beads. Folks who have only known me for the past few years have almost flipped when they saw those old photos!
As far as music goes, I like a lot of modern stuff, but I still have all my old vinyl LP records, (purchased when they were released!) of Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Donovan, etc. Matter of fact, I still have my original record set of the Woodstock Festival.

I've always felt like I was born too late. Should have been a flower child! Part of never being comfortable in my own skin, I suppose. And speaking of skin, I get goosebumps when I think about bell bottoms, love beads and Led Zepplin But there are no mistakes made in the world, had I been a flower child, I probably wouldn't have lived to be 30.
Thanks for the share, Dan.

Hey everybody, This talk about hippies has me thinking of the old days. Dan's VW, has always reminded me of my old VW Van. Mine was blue and white with decals all over it. My first husband and I moved to Washington state in it.
We were hippies, did everthing we could get our hands on, we had a cat named Hendrix, I dressed like Janis, I still have all my old LP's,been paying for a storage building for years for those and the old bell bottoms, gauze blouses, all the old jewelry. My daughter worn some my stuff for Sr. day about 10 years ago. Oh, what memories, it was scarey.
I try not to think about those days too often, a lot of my 4th Step was about them. It's a miracle I'm alive to tell the stories. The past is what made me who I am today, and that is not a bad thing. I like myself, most of the time.
