Hi All, this is to anyone in the predicted path of Rita. We are praying for yourselves, your families and your property to be left undamaged.
May your God be with you during this time.
Bye for now.
Chris.

Hey Chris:) That Rita stuff is pretty devastating shheet. We are fortunate to be where we are. Lotta homeless people from the last hit-and bang-here it goes again.
We get some spin offs tho--in the north. Gas just hit 8 dollars a gallon, an hour ago.
Howd you make out with the new job?

Hi Phil, Petrol (Gas) is at about 98.6(Uk pence) per litre, thats about the same price you have I think, (Gallon being 8 pints, litre being about 2 pints, assuming Ca$ is similar to US$????)
Then again US Gallon is diffrent to UK gallon, and I still measure beer in Pins, Firking, Kilderkins, Barrels, and Hogsheads (4.5, 9, 18, 36, 54)
Distances 1/8, 1/4 1/2 and inch followed by feet(1/3 yard or 12 inches), Yards (3 feet), Poles, Fathoms, chains, furlongs.
Ah, I give up, I'm CONFUSED but refuse to go metric!
I had the job interview, went ok, should find out this week. I'm not all that bothered either way to be honest. The money is really bad, and my boss at work has told me that my job is safe ( i'm on US$10,000 more in the job I've got now than in the job that I just applied for!)
Hope all is well with you.
Bye for now.
Chris.

8.00 a gallon????
We're still at 3.00 here...I think there's some price gouging going on. At least, we were at 3 yesterday...who knows about today.
I wish gas would go up here to 5.00 and stay there...maybe then people would start demanding more efficient and alternative modes of transportation.
Love ya, cheri

Hey to you all too! or... Greetings, eh?
Beer used to give me gas, and I used to spend a lot of money on beer, and on gas while I was driving around drinking it, be it in pints or pails.
I've heard that we get by a fair amount cheaper on the price of gas in the USA than in Europe. I'm also afraid that it's going to get worse for all of us eventually. We all really need to see greater strides made world wide in developing alternative energy, (preferably not nuclear), but more renewable, cleaner type stuff. I promise not to get anymore political than that, cause after all, we gotta stay sober even if we are all walkin' & not drivin'!
Let's all pray for deliverance for all those folks ravaged by hurricanes in the western hemisphere, and by typhoons in the eastern side. And for peace and serenity of all us weak little critters stumbling along on this fragile little ecosystem called earth. I don't remember all of "the sailor's prayer", but it's something like this: "Oh Lord, have mercy on me, Thy sea is so great, and my boat is so small!"
