"Came the day when I realized that I couldn't keep dragging myself off to work in the morning and spending half the energy of every day concealing the fact that I was a barely functioning drunk"
-from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, pg 392.
Hi all. Nic got my curiousity up about this in my "tomorrow" post. Not only had I heard the term but knew I'd read it, happended to re-read it last night. It was what I needed to hear.
Just wanted to share that.
Have a grateful, sober day.
Love and peace

great post phil,,
Boy the days of working with a "hang-over" what a nightmare.
Never realized how bad my attitude affected my co-workers and clients.
Just wanting to get home and pop open a beer, and only concentratin on that beer.
My occupation required physical labor. Talk about sweating out all that beer!!!!!!!!!!!! Man oh Man... Looking like a "drowned rat".
So Happy those days of sweating buckets are over. How emberasssing!

You might want to read your quote again OP. There's a big difference between 'barely functioning' and 'functioning'.
Twisting things to suit our cause, or manipulating what is, is another of the problems we all have to keep working on.
Right here, with you, on this.

I understood it. It was the word "functioning" I was searching for. Knew I'd read it at some point. That's all.
