Through meetings, my sponsor, this board and my friends in the program; I am starting to feel somewhat normal again!!!
My psycho behavior is subsiding and I'm feeling like my old self again. Things with my man are going much better; we both seem happier with our relationship! Our year anniversary is coming up August 1st, so hopefully things will continue to get better and we will really have cause for celebration!
I am so thankful that I have my Dad in my life right now! He is in the program and I doubt very seriously that without him, I would've ever looked to AA as a solution for my alcoholism and addiction! He has been such a positive influence in my life and I am so thankful for that!! For years we had no relationship at all and it really is one of the gifts of the program that we have such an amazing relationship today!!
I hear many people in the rooms say that, "as long as I stay greatful, I'll stay sober." and I think that is so true! I am trying to concentrate on all the things that I am greatful for right now and as long as I'm doing that, I'm less likely to engage in crazy behavior!
My focus now is not so much on not drinking/using, but trying to improve my behavior and overall quality of life. I've found that as long as I'm working on those things, thoughts of drinking and relapse-like behavior seem to disappear for the most part!
Thank you to everyone on this board, you have definitely helped over the last two weeks!!

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Ga Peach. Keep it up..... and I agree; I too find that when I spend my time being grateful, it makes day to day life so much easier......

It's an absolute miracle what sobriety can do. I have been sober now going on 7 weeks and I see things differently every day. I see "little victories" every day. Every night when I go to bed sober I call it "one little victory- I didn't take a drink today"
