Obsession is this diseases middle name..well actually, first, middle and last!!! The only way to put that into remission is to practice taking our thoughts elsewhere as soon as we realize thats what we're doing!. Practice makes correction! Before we know it, it's happening less often... My head is a dangerous place to be alone!! i've noticed lately i've just been there too much!! So, reading, a comedy.....anything to get me out of my head( I call it the hood!) is my best medicine. The battle between ego and spirit..ego wants to drink...drug...our ego wants to take the easier , softer way....numb the pain, guilt, shame with whatever DOC is obsessed about ....our ego's are weak....you're spirit doesn't want to drink again, spirit is strong... Which one wins? The one you feed.!! 'Staying in the light' became one of my mantras when i went into detox and treatment...all that time..i spent in dark, dingy bars...crackhouses(shiver).. i slept with a light on for over a month!! spirit has become my night light besides prayer and meditation...nature is a great way to feed our spirit...and ego doesn't like it!!! So it finds times to attack, with obsession. Lets feed our spirit today and 'stay in the light' like my little brother says, peace, luv and chicken grease, Wendy

Yes , this is what I need constantly but sometimes It gets really hard. I have slept with the light on for many many years now. Because of somethings that had happend to me before I do not like that dark !
Wendi, I know it had to of been a really hard fight GODBLESS for your will to keep fighting, and then winning,, Thats totally awsome!!!
