My  Hp, and AA has shown me the way!!!

You are a better person than I , I jsut dont know what I am doing?   Destroying my life.  Being a loser I just want to blame someone my parents anyone. Please help?

Suzy,,,believe me i'm no better person than you are!!!! We're not bad people we're sick people.

When i stopped blaming everyone around me,,when i changed how i look at things, things change!!

I'll help you in anyway i can. Keep talking, when i do it seems to lose its power over me, and by the way..nothin changed till i stopped drinking.  Sending you hugs and positive energy acxross the miles.   : )

Does it count if I stop just minutes after I had a drink( well actually an hour now)

I know it was a wrong step backwards.  I am so close to sobriety but yet so far.

I have the Big Book now what should I read first?

hiya Suzy...i want to say how proud i am of you for TRYING...thats what counts...and yes the minutes count!!! Those minutes make up the hours that turn in to the days my friend. : )

Ok so you backstepped, you're picking yourself up, dusting your self off and not giving up hope! Way to go!

Read the first 164 pages...thats all th info you need on how to get and stay sober!!

Chapter 1--Bill's story, page 1 is a great place to start!!  You may want to check out page 449.

"And acceptance is the answer to ALL my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation-some fact of my life-unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way its supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing happen's in God's world by mistake. Until I could accept my alcoholism, I could not stay sober; unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes.

Shakespear said, "All the world's a stage, all the men and women merely players." He forgot to mention that I was the chief critic. I was always able to see the flaw in every person, every situation. And I was always glad to point it out, because i knew you wanted perfection, just as I did. AA and acceptance have taught me that there is a bit of good in the owrst of us and a bit of bad in the best of us; that we are all children of God and we each have a right to be here. When I complain about me or about you, I am complaining about God's haniwork. I am saying that I know better than God."

Hi Wendy, Congratulations on eleven months of sobriety !!

Isn't it amazing what one day at a time can do. And that's exactly how this program works, for you and me.Thanks for all the sharing you do and the 12th step sharing, if we don't give it away, we may forget where we came from. I don't ever want to travel that road again.

Keep doing what your doing.
