After several years in the program, my sobriety was starting to get "stale" as I was frequenting the same AA meetings week after week. So on Wednesdays now, another AA friend of mine & I travel just 20 minutes down the highway to a BB meeting. What a nice bunch of folks! We've been so warmly received that it didn't take long before we felt right at home. And it's all about good AA sobriety & honest sharing. Such a refreshing change.! I guess I just needed to travel a wee bit to remember that AA is such an awesome program no matter where we go. It's a nice way to get through the middle of the week. Thx for letting me share. - Pat B 

i always try and go to different meetings.  i think that it is fun to go for a ride and get to see others and their take on things.

It will be interesting going to meetings in Messina, Sicily. Sure will stretch my vocabulary and a good way to meet some of the locals that I would otherwise never get to see. Perhaps I'll get to meet some real Mafia?

It's good to travel-- need to change the faces and hear some new experenince strength and hope. When spring arrives i'm planning to get hooked up with some guys that meet up and ride there bikes to different meetings.  You have to give to get!!  thanks  Rick

Meetings whilst travelling are the best! Especially when you can't get to many. I was in the western part of Cambodia this past Nov. thru early January and had the opportunity to have a one on one meeting with a member there. Never made it to the meeting in the capital this time but made several while in Bangkok which were excellent. And it was great to see that it's blossoming into something more than just western ex-pats. I was about 5 weeks in Cambodia without a meeting but I got a chance reread the Big Book and plenty of Grapevines and to try to carry the message since I brought a couple translated Big Books and a pamphlets with me. I do my homework beforehand on where any meetings might be. Alway plan ahead. Never thought travelling sober would be such fun. We have good, true friends everywhere if we're willing to reach out.
