There are times in our lives
When we come across many things
That may scare us, or upset us
But we continue to walk ahead.
As some of these things make us stronger
And others can make us weaker
I find love seems to be the one
That brings out the most fear of all.
For some who have been hurt
By the ones they loved
Their heart turns cold for others
And some turn weak and scared.
They tell themselves never again
No trust shall I ever give to one
The pain they have suffered all too much
Leaves the emptiness way too deep.
Then is the time we need to look
And remember who put it there
For not all of us are the same
But we have to trust to see
When you find your one true love
A soulmate they shall always be
Replacing the hurt that another gave
And trust rebuilds as time goes by
As for some you need to know
The feeling of fear and insecure
Has been a way of life for so long
But can be restored with your love
When your mate is feeling sad
Or upset for reasons unknown
Thats when they need to hear
Those special words just from you
Never ever walk away from love
That is so precious and so pure
For it may never come again
Across your path as it has now.

Reflection for the Day
I've heard it said that when God closes a door, a window opens. Since I started working the Twelve Steps, much of the fear and pain that haunted my life is gone. Some of my defects have been lifted from me, though I'm still wresting with others. I believe that if I continue to work the Twelve Steps over and over again, my life will continue to improve physically, mentally, and spiritually. Am I more willing and better able to help others by working the Steps myself?
Today I Pray
I give thanks to God for showing me that the Twelve Steps are a stairway to a saner life. As I re-work them conscientiously, my life does get better, healthier, and nearer to my Higher Power. As I continue to live them, may I feel the same gratitude and exaltation of spirit as those who are just now discovering them.
Today I Will Remember
Step by Step, day by day.
