State Conference Bi-Laws

Hi!  I have a question about where to find the Bi-Laws for Social Media and conferences.

I have a "secret" group on Facebook that I manage.  We post flyers, thoughts, insirations and any 12 step recovery comments,

I have recently posted a  flyer for the Illinois State Conference on our secret group and was told to take it down,

that it violated one of the conference BiLaws.  I wasn't told which one and nor can I find it.

Please can anyine help?

I found this web site for the Illinois AA state conference, you can try using the 'contact us' button and asking them.

http://www.aailcon.org/

But why not ask the person who is making the claim to be more specific and explain exactly what their objection is?

And aside from that, the bylaws of any AA conference are only intended to provide guidance to that conference about it's own actions, I don't see how they could be intended to impose rules on other groups or individuals...

DB, there is important guidance from AA about postings on social networking sites and other types of sites and forums in:

    "A.A. Guidelines. - Internet"

http://www.aa.org/assets/en_US/aa-guidelines/mg-18-internet

That should be helpful to you. Good luck.

!2 Step recovery Fellowships are full of people who really don't know what the hell they are talking about. The conference puts out a flyer unless they wanted to get the information on the event out to those who are interested in it. That's why they put out a flyer. Since the site has a view/print button on their website, its safe to think that they want to get the info out there.

It may have contained members phone numbers, which would be reason enough according to the AA Guidlelines on anonymity.
