I am staying off the roads this holiday. So many drunks and prefer to stay here, go to a meeting and throw something on the $5 electric outdoor grill I got at a yard sale. (The food really tastes like the charcoal grilled food!)
For the newly recovering alcoholics.....I know that this can be a rough time trying to stay sober. Just get to a meeting and hang out with non drinkers as much as you can. Eat some sugar to keep the cravings at a minimum. Remember to watch out for H.A.L.T. ---watch for hungry, angry, lonely and tired, which can lead to drinking if we don't watch for those things.
Also, there is a great movie which you can watch on your computer....My Name is Bill W., about the founder of AA. Just look it up. I watched this early in my recovery and found it to be very interesting.
