The Rock Bottom that Dropped me into the Abyss by a lady alcoholic

In July 2012 I hit rock bottom, no I thought I'd hit rock bottom. I fell into the longest binge I've ever known. I just stopped going to work and stayed home and drank and drank. I'd stop for about 3hrs, long enough to go and pick my daughter up from school. If you could have seen my apartment. It was absolutely disgusting. I knew I was an alcoholic then. In fact I've known for a long time. Its just been so much easier to blame the drinking on all the hardship in my life. I walked away from a job that I'd sought for two full years. Sober years. I was arrested for DUI in 2008 and I'd love to say it was the 6 AA meetings I was forced to attend that changed things but it was not. It was the night I came home from a date Oct 14th 2010 with my pants on backwards. (more to come)....

Welcome to MIP 'joblady', ... glad you found us ...

Your history is all too familiar to me and most everyone else here ... the question is ... ... ... where are you 'today' ... It was easy for me to do step 1 ... I had proved to myself I was powerless when it came to alcohol, and soon, over many other things too ... but it wasn't until I totally got honest with myself and worked the rest of the twelve steps that I began the road to recovery ...

And if I could do it, then so can the worst alcoholic ever ... ... ...

Your worth keeping around ... other alcoholics need you ...
Love ya and God Bless,
Pappy
