12 Step Worksheet
Permalink

I found this while I was online looking for material on the 12 steps.  I had previous knowledge of an NA step working guide but not one for AA in particular.  I'm not sure if they would be considered the same considering both groups work with steps.  I uploaded the worksheet for feedback.  I wanted something that I could kind of work on alone and with my future sponsor...more like food for thought as I am going through this process.  I am the type of person that needs to reflect a lot when writing or speaking of past experiences, so I thought this might be useful.  Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks

Amanda

Thanks Amanda, .... This looks like a good 'help guide' for working the steps ... I'm saving it for a more in depth review later ... thanks

Hi Amanda,

I have not seen this or used it in sponsoring others, but if you think it is something that will help you use it.

I normally have people write out a 1st step reasons they are powerless and unmanagable and I have a separate 4th step and 8th step worksheet.

Get with your sponsor and she what she says. I probably wouldn't put all those questions in front of most men real early in sobriety, but there is a reason men sponsor men and women/women. Keep everything in order and keep the primary focus on the book don't drink or use, and you can't go wrong.

Rob has a great point here ... what I took from these posts is that in the beginning, I think we should keep it simple ... the 'K.I.S.S.' method ...

If we have a sponsee that really is having a hard time, or is a chronic relapse'r, then maybe this, more in depth, analysis is the way to go ... the worksheet posted is perhaps a good way for a person that's having trouble 'sorting things out' ...

I think everyone pretty much works the program in a way that 'works for them' ... spiritual growth is the primary goal in the program ... and that will vary with every different personality there is ...

the worksheet above may be too much thinking at the beginning ... and for some people, that may be a big 'turn-off' ... just a thought ...

Thanks for the advice! I agree that the worksheets may be a little too much over thinking right now. That's one of my character defects...thinking too far into the future and not taking it one day at a time. Easy does it! However, I think I will keep them to sort of revert back to when remembering things I would like to bring up with my sponsor. Thanks again!
