6 Days Sober

Dear Friends,

Some may have read my earlier posts.  I picked up a drink in February after over 8 years sober.

I was a mess.

Thanks to your support and going back to meetings I'm 6 days.

I'm going back to my home group again tomorrow night (Friday night here in Sydney).

Today I stayed home with my son who has the flu (so do I but that's no surprise the way I've been looking after myself - not).

Each day I'm the tiniest bit better.  The mornings are the worst when I wake up in complete anxiety and run to the bathroom.  It's going to take a while for my mind and body to settle down.  It still surprises me though that with no alcohol in my system my body is in a mess.  I am still exhausted.

My husband still isn't really talking to me.  We have a LOT of issues.  He has his own addiciton issues to deal with.  Funnily enough I'm handling it OK because right now I just don't have the energy to concentrate on anything else but the kids, work and recovery.  The house is a MESS.  I was going to clean it today but I just couldn't.

Anyway friends.  Thanks for being here.

Jennihmm

Welcome back and keep coming backkk Jeminez (sorry if the spelling is wrong)
I just came from a meeting where a few folks were in a similar sitiation- I love that you all made it back, thank God for that

somewhere to go, I've been amazed at the power in company, power in being "not alone" as we trudge this road of happy destiny.  Ugly questions for you:  Have you had enough? Are you sick and tired of bein sick and tired?  Your in the right place -

Keep the faith my new friend

Hey, and BTW Wontada--Love your post. I had to smile last night at my first meeting when I heard the words sick and tired . . . I read them here often and I began to understand. So true (for me) about what you say concerning company. I got that last night.
Glad to hear you have your home group, Jenni, to go back to. :)
